  • 55% of that workforce is made up of women

March, 2026. Coyol Free Zone has established itself as a driving force for innovation and opportunities for women in Costa Rica. Today, 55% of the workforce at the 34 companies operating in this industrial park consists of female employees who, thanks to their skills, commitment, and determination, strengthen every process and strategic area of this productive ecosystem.

This percentage represents 13,982 women who contribute their knowledge and experience in operational, technical, administrative, and managerial roles. Many of them have focused their professional training on STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), which require a high level of specialization and technical rigor.

These women work in dynamic professional environments, contributing to high-demand sectors such as life sciences, smart manufacturing, semiconductors, and advanced logistics operations, where they help develop high-value-added production processes.

Carlos Wong, Managing Director of CODE Development Group, the co-developer of Coyol Free Zone, stated that the Park promotes equity, fosters professional development, and strengthens strategic skills to successfully address the challenges of such sophisticated industries. “Coyol Free Zone not only creates high-quality, formal, and inclusive jobs, but has also become a driving force for innovation and knowledge transfer. Our talent—including our female employees—is trained to the highest standards, develops cutting-edge technical skills, and builds a vision that transforms the future of key industries”, said Wong.

The Director also acknowledged that there has been a growing presence of women in leadership positions within companies, where they stand out for their professionalism, efficiency, and strong corporate commitment.
