Alajuela, October 9, 2025. Once again, Costa Rica is filled with pride as Coyol Free Zone receives, for yet another year, important international recognition that consolidates its position as the most awarded Free Trade Zone in the country.
On this occasion, the Industrial Park once again achieved a position in the Top 10 Global Free Zones 2025 ranking. It was also recognized in the Industrial Free Zones category and received the Excellence in Sustainability award, both in the Americas region.
These awards are presented by fDi Intelligence, a global authority on Foreign Direct Investment and economic analysis, aimed at multinational companies and executives with decision-making power, as well as companies interested in expanding their operations or investing.
With the three awards received in 2025, Coyol Free Zone consolidates its global leadership by being recognized for the sixth year in the Top 10 Free Zones in the World. In addition, it has accumulated five awards as Best Free Trade Zone in the Americas in recent years, and this year it shone before the world by being one of the first Free Trade Zones to receive the certification of good practices awarded by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). These awards, and many others, cement its position as the most awarded free trade zone in Costa Rica.
Carlos Wong, Managing Director of CODE Development Group, co-developer and operator of Coyol Free Zone, emphasized that these distinctions are a source of great pride for the park, its collaborators, and the companies located there. “This confirms the successful track record of the medical device sector in Costa Rica and our leadership in this sector.”
“Coyol Free Zone is a strategic center for innovation and business growth, connecting global companies with highly qualified Costa Rican talent and a consolidated ecosystem of suppliers. It also offers an excellent geographical location, allowing manufactured products to be shipped directly from Costa Rica to end markets, said Wong.
According to the Director, being the most awarded Free Zone in Costa Rica reflects the support for a model based on excellence and commitment to sustainability. “Coyol Free Zone is a proposal that promotes lasting value for companies, employees, and the country, contributing to economic and social development.”
