• Positioned #7 in the Top Free Zones 2020 ranking

November 2020. Coyol Free Zone, the leading free zone in medical device exports in the country, continues to achieve success in global rankings.

This time, the international publication, Site Selection Magazine, placed Coyol Free Zone for the fourth consecutive year in the Top Free Zones 2020, this year ranking it #7 worldwide.

Site Selection targets investors in the global real estate and investment attraction industry, so Coyol Free Zone’s recognition places Costa Rica on the world stage as an ideal destination for Foreign Direct Investment, a testament to its first-rate infrastructure and human talent.

“Site Selection is backed by a global community of consultants and investors who analyze the daily operations of each free zone around the world, in turn confirming our position as one of the strongest players in the free trade zone arena in Latin America,” stated Carlos Wong, Coyol Free Zone’s CEO.

Recently, the prestigious magazine, The European by Thompson Reuters, also recognized Coyol Free Zone as the best Free Zone in Latin America; furthermore, fDi Intelligence, a monitoring tool of the specialized investment publication fDi Magazine, positioned it #7 in the World’s Top 10.

These awards come with special mentions in categories such as Sustainability, Academic Collaboration, Specialism in Medical Devices, Recruitment Assistance, and Best Large Clients.

Coyol Free Zone (CFZ) is the leading park in medical device exports in Costa Rica, generating $2,071 million in 2019, which makes up 58% of the exports coming from the manufacturing sector of the Free Trade Zone Regime.
