Construction of the first laboratory at Philips Costa Rica, dedicated to the research and development of medical devices, began in September.

The laboratory will test and characterize materials and processes involved in the manufacture of image-guided therapy products. Furthermore, general research and development support will be provided to the company.
“It is great news for our plant to have a laboratory that will have a positive impact on our manufacturing processes. We are also proud to have Costa Rican human resources that will perform such a valuable and critical task for the organization,” said Mario Barquero, Plant Manager of Philips in Costa Rica.
The facility will be 130 m² in size and is expected to be completed in December.
